Terms of service

Last updated

These terms cover every service DEATH TO SEO sells. DEATH TO SEO is operated by Peter from deathtoseo.com. By booking a service, you agree to these terms. If something is unclear, email before you book.

The services

  • Cause Check (free). An email naming the leading suspects behind your traffic drop, with dates, example URLs and counts, and an estimate of the monthly loss, within one business day. Built from outside data. It’s yours to keep and share.
  • Autopsy ($1,500 for the first 10, then $2,000). A cause-of-death verdict with an evidence appendix, a loss ledger, odds for each cause, a fix list of dev-ready tickets, and an AI exposure map, within three business days. Includes a one-page leadership brief, tickets in your format (Jira, Linear or CSV) with copy-paste vendor questions, a free re-check after the next confirmed Google update, and 30 days of Watch.
  • Rescue ($2,500 up to 500 old URLs; $4,000 up to 5,000; quoted above that). A redirect map for every old URL, dev-ready tickets for indexing fixes, and a verification crawl, in about two weeks. Includes 90 days of Watch.
  • Recovery Program ($2,500 a month for three months). For Google-caused losses. Weekly prioritised direction (tickets and page briefs), a check of every change that ships, and a monthly re-verdict. Offered only when the odds are fair and the lost value justifies $7,500 of work. We run at most three at a time.
  • Launch Cover ($5,000 up to 1,000 URLs; $8,000 up to 10,000; quoted above that). A redirect map and pre-launch checklist review, a launch-day crawl, and 60 days of Watch.
  • Watch ($199 a month). A weekly email; immediate alerts when old URLs break, when noindex, robots or canonical tags change on key pages, or when sitemap or status errors appear; and a before-and-after Search Console comparison when a confirmed Google update finishes (this part needs Search Console access).

Current prices are on the pricing page. The price you’re invoiced is the price you pay for that booking.

Business days

Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. Where a deadline runs from Search Console access, the clock starts the business day after the access arrives, and we confirm the exact due date in writing when we confirm the access.

Payment

  • How: we send an invoice by email. No card payments on the site yet.
  • Autopsy: paid when booked.
  • Rescue: half when booked, half when our crawl confirms every old URL resolves to the right page and the site is fully indexable.
  • Recovery Program: monthly, for three months, subject to the day-30 stop below.
  • Launch Cover: half at kickoff, half after the launch-day crawl.
  • Watch: monthly, until you cancel.
  • Autopsy credit: the Autopsy fee counts in full toward Rescue or the Recovery Program if you book it within 30 days of the Autopsy.

Guarantees

  • Autopsy: if we don’t deliver the verdict within three business days, or can’t name the cause with evidence, we refund the Autopsy in full. An inconclusive verdict counts as a miss.
  • Rescue: if the verification crawl fails because of our map, we fix the map at no charge.
  • Rescue booked directly from a Cause Check: the Autopsy is included, and the first payment is half the Rescue price or the Autopsy price in effect when you book, whichever is higher. If that Autopsy finds your site was not the cause, we refund everything you paid above that Autopsy price.
  • Recovery Program: month one is a paid pilot. In week one we agree leading indicators with you from the Autopsy. If they haven’t moved by day 30, we stop, and you pay nothing more.
  • Launch Cover: if traffic drops after launch because of anything on our checklist, Rescue is free. This applies only if our map was implemented as delivered.

The refund policy sets out how each one works. Refund policy.

What you’re responsible for

  • Giving us the access each service needs: read-only Search Console access for the Autopsy, Rescue verification, the Recovery Program and Watch’s update comparison.
  • Shipping the fixes. Your developer ships Rescue and Recovery Program changes by default. On Shopify, Webflow, WordPress, Squarespace or Wix, you may instead give us temporary access and we upload redirect files ourselves, at no extra charge.
  • For Launch Cover: implementing our map as delivered, and sending us any changes before launch.
  • Telling us about changes to your site while we’re working on it.

What we never promise

We don’t guarantee rankings, traffic recovery, AI citations, or any timeline that depends on Google. Google decides how it ranks and cites pages. Our verdicts are analyses based on the evidence available, and you decide whether and how to act on them.

The honesty clause

If the Autopsy says the loss is mostly structural or unrecoverable, we say so, and we don’t sell the Recovery Program. This is a policy, not a guarantee.

Using our work

Deliverables are yours to use inside your company and to share with your team, leadership, investors and vendors. Please don’t republish them as your own work.

We may decline work that doesn’t fit, including sites built on scaled or spam tactics looking for a workaround.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the fees you paid us in the prior twelve months.

Disputes

If something goes wrong, tell us first at legal@deathtoseo.com and we’ll work to resolve it in good faith. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that applies to you.

Changes

If we change these terms, the version in force when you booked applies to that booking.
