Free SEO tools: redirects, noindex and Google updates
Three free checks from our traffic-drop work. Trace where your old URLs go, test whether Google can index your pages, and line a drop up against Google’s confirmed updates. No signup, no email.
Three checks for a traffic drop
Redirect checker
Trace up to 100 URLs, or pull your old URLs from the Wayback Machine, and see which are broken, chained or sent to the homepage.
Traffic fell after a redesign, a new platform or a domain move.
Noindex and robots.txt checker
See whether Google can index each page: the robots.txt rule Googlebot follows, meta robots, X-Robots-Tag and canonical. Test a robots.txt file against search and AI crawlers.
Pages dropped out of Google, or a new site is about to launch.
Google update checker
Enter the date your traffic dropped, or load a Search Console export, and see which confirmed Google updates overlap. It runs in your browser.
Nothing changed on your site and the drop lines up with an update.
Which one first?
Start with what changed. If traffic fell after a redesign, a new platform or a domain move, run the redirect checker on your old URLs. Broken pages and redirects to the homepage are on your site, so they’re fixable.
Pages gone from Google, or a launch coming up? Run the noindex checker. One leftover noindex tag or robots.txt rule is enough to keep a page out of Google.
Nothing changed on your site? Check the drop date against Google’s updates. An overlap makes Google a suspect, not the verdict: a relaunch in the same quarter can look just like an update.
Still can’t tell? The free Cause Check names the leading suspects for your domain, with dates, example URLs and counts, by email within one business day.
